Question his sexuality...Blast his Scientology...But whatever you do, don't go after Tom Cruise's Suri. The 50-year-old Rock of Ages star is finally showing the tabloids where he draws the line -- and it starts and finishes with his 6-year-old daughter with ex-wife Katie Holmes. The Jack Reacher leading man just served Life & Style and In Touch magazines with a whopping $50 million lawsuit. And it's all over the tabs' use of the "a" word. Life & Style blared the headline: "Suri In Tears, Abandoned By Her Dad," while In Touch claimed Suri was "Abandoned By Daddy," above a sad-looking picture of the school girl. As it turns out, the devoted dad maintains that he "loves his daughter dearly and would never abandon her." Now, the A-list actor wants the media to know that publishing false headlines about his favorite role (i.e., dad) is risky business. Cruise's legal eagles want millions, along with punitive damages for defamation and invasion of privacy. Tom Cruise's attorney Bert Fields issued the following statement: "Tom is a caring father who dearly loves Suri. She's a vital part of his life and always will be. To say he has 'abandoned' her is a vicious lie. To say it in lurid headlines with a tearful picture of Suri is reprehensible. Tom doesn't go around suing people. He's not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he's going to sue." Their mission is now to drag down the tabloids for telling mistruths. Fields adds, "These serial defamers are foreign-owned companies with their global headquarters in Hamburg. They take money from unsuspecting Americans by selling their malicious garbage. Having to pay a libel judgment may slow them down." Should he win, it's hardly money for nothing. Cruise plans on donating any financial judgments to charity.
