What Men Really Think of the Trendiest Looks

You've done your best smoky eye, carefully styled your hair into those stylish, carefree waves and have on the latest runway look. If you're looking to impress your man, then think again. Some of the trendiest looks of the season are also the most ridiculed, according to a recent survey. You've chosen a haircut that makes you feel beautiful, flatters your hair's texture and your face. But what does he think? Based on stars' cuts, here's what they had to say. Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame ranked super low with her edgy, dark locks. And that chic ponytail you might sport on an admittedly bad hair day? It's a no go with the guys, no matter how dressed up and sleek you make it. What they do like? Hair that doesn't look too "done." Think half updos and easy, wavy long hair. A surprise hit with guys is the pixie cut, which is admittedly hard to pull off. A makeup no-no for guys? The smoky eye, a la Taylor Momsen. Keep it light if you choose to go smoky.

Other eye looks that win with guys are false lashes and brightly colored eyeliner, like sea green. The no-makeup makeup look is on-trend and guys love it, so give that one a try this season. As for your duds, the dudes seem to love classics like fitted leather jackets and skinny jeans. Leg-baring miniskirts are still a hit with the guys, of course, but not too short. Most are fans of the longer boots that hit above the knee, but 20 percent of those surveyed didn't think it was a good look for any "self-respecting girl." Another footwear no-no among guys is the gladiator sandal. Maybe all those straps seem too fussy, but only about half the guys surveyed said it was a fashion "do." The biggest fashion "don't" among guys? Ugg boots - and the various knockoffs, regardless of what they're paired with. Guys surveyed called the look "lazy" and "unfeminine." Ouch. So now that you know what they think of your favorite looks. Dress accordingly - or not!
