The price of curlers range from as little as $2.99 to as much as $20.00 (and sometimes more) depending on the make and model of the handy dandy instrument you choose. There are three different types of eyelash curlers -- metal curlers, plastic curlers and heated eyelash curlers -- but they all serve the same purpose. Although the techniques vary from person to person, here are the basics. Eyelashes should always be completely free of makeup.
If you have old makeup on, use remover to clean the area. Once you've got a blank slate, heat the curlers using a hair dryer for about five seconds. Some curlers come with a heating component. Line up the curler with the bottom of the lashes and close the curlers. Hold for up to 30 seconds. The longer the hold, the curlier the lashes. One thing to avoid is pulling upwards with the curler -- this can cause the eyelashes to break or tear out. Wait a few seconds and then apply a coat of mascara.
