Move over Britney Spears. X Factor got a visit from real rock and roll royalty this weekend. According to TMZ, KISS lead singer Gene Simmons accompanied his daughter to try out for the famous Fox talent competition. Insiders tell TMZ that Sophie Simmons hit up the San Francisco tryouts. Despite having Simmons present, daughter Sophie told the judging panel, which included Spears, along with Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid, that she wanted a "fair shot." She also maintained, "This isn't about my dad. This is about my audition." Supposedly, she was trying to avoid any nepotism. Sources say she didn't even let the rowdy rocker know about her plans until the night before. When she called to say she wouldn't be there for Father's Day, the doting dad apparently corralled a private jet and flew to San Fran to see his dear daughter perform. Obviously, there's no word on whether she'll be on her way to Los Angeles. Sophie isn't the only celebrity offspring to appear on Fox talent competitions. Jim Carrey's daughter Jane tried out for American Idol. However, she never made it past Hollywood week. Soon enough, we will see if it's like father, like daughter for Sophie.
