Chachi is doing way better than Joanie these days. While former sitcom star Scott Baio has gone on to bigger and better things since playing one half of the dynamic duo on Joanie Loves Chachi back in the early '80s, things didn't go as well for co-star Erin Moran. According to the National Enquirer, the former child star is pretty much destitute without a permanent roof over her head. In fact, her situation is so dire that the 51-year-old actress was tossed out of the trailer she was sharing with her mother-in-law. Moran, best known for her role as sweet Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days and the spin-off Joanie Loves Chachi, had taken up residence in a mobile home park in Indiana after she and her husband lost their home in California to foreclosure. The National Enquirer reports that Moran was acting as her mother-in-law's caretaker, but she couldn't curb her wild ways. A source tells the Enquirer, "Erin was a huge help at first, but then Steve's mom got fed up with Erin's nonstop partying and told her to hit the road. She was going out and coming home at all hours of the night, sometimes with her rowdy bar friends, and Steve's mom just couldn't take it anymore, so she told Erin to leave." Moran and her husband Steve, who works in the garden department of Walmart, made a beeline for a local hotel. However, they quickly wore out their welcome there as well. The source adds, "On several occasions the hotel management warned Erin to curb her unruly behavior, but they finally had enough of her temper and demanded that she immediately leave the property." For now, Moran and her hubby are living off of a $65,000 settlement she won from CBS for merchandise revenue. The couple has supposedly been using that money to stay afloat...in alcohol, that is. The source says that while moving from motel to motel, she has been squandering her cash "like a drunken sailor."
