Acclaimed writer, director and producer Nora Ephron lost her battle with acute myeloid leukemia on Tuesday, according to TMZ. Her son Jacob Bernstein relayed the sad news that she'd taken a turn for the worse in recent days, contracting pneumonia. Ephron penned such classics as Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail, and she directed the films as well. She taught women everywhere how to "fake it" with When Harry Met Sally, and sympathized with women who felt bad about their necks with books like Heartburn, I Remember Nothing and I Feel Bad About My Neck. She came by her talent honestly - her parents and three sisters were all writers. Stars reacted to her death as it was first reported that she was gravely ill, then her death was quickly confirmed. "I am very sad to learn of Nora's passing. She was a brilliant writer and humorist. Being her Harry to Meg's Sally will always have a special place in my heart. I was very lucky to get to say her words," Billy Crystal said. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg Tweeted, "Nora Ephron always loved a good New York story, and she could tell them like no one else. NYC will miss her very much." She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Pileggi and sons Jacob and Max Bernstein.
