Blonde bombshell Jenny McCarthy is hardly laughing over comic Jim Carrey's treatment toward her son Evan. Although the odd couple split more than two years ago, the 39-year-old Playboy model is only now speaking out about the 50-year-old actor's relationship -- or lack thereof -- with her 10-year-old son. During the five years that McCarthy and Carrey were together, the Mr. Popper's Penguins actor was the leading man in Evan's life. He also took an active role in raising awareness about autism, a condition from which Evan suffers. But since the split, Carrey has reportedly been M.I.A. McCarthy obviously feels slighted about the situation, expressing her frustrations during an appearance on Howard Stern to promote her new dating reality show Love in the Wild. She told the shock jock that she's "tried to ask [Jim] numerous times [to see Evan], because my son still asks." She also revealed that Evan is getting professional help to contend with his feelings. Of course, McCarthy admits that she hasn't exactly been banging down Carrey's door. She admits that she "hasn't reached out directly" to Carrey. She adds that she still has feelings for Carrey -- both good and bad: "But I still love him. I think you can love people from a distance and respect him. But as a mother, you just hope when you have a relationship with someone it has nothing to do with the child when you break up." Carrey has opted to take the high road, releasing the following statement, "I will always do what I believe is in the best interest of Evan's well being. It's unfortunate that Evan's privacy is not being considered. I love Evan very much and will miss him always." One insider defended Carrey to Us Weekly, saying, "[Jenny] never reached out directly to him, so that's a bit of a stretch for her to say. Sometimes it's really too painful to still be involved with an ex's child's life, but it doesn't mean he doesn't care about [Evan] or love him."
