Hell hath no fury over a woman, er, girl, scorned. Although he's left a trail of broken hearts in his wake, John Mayer has opted to play the victim with one. The 34-year-old singer is calling out former love interest Taylor Swift after she penned a bitter ballad over how he supposedly treated her. Mayer's timing is ironic, considering Swift's song "Dear John" was released in 2010, and he's currently promoting his new album Born and Raised. Mayer probably would have spoken out sooner, but he spent the last two years on a self-imposed hiatus from the media after repeatedly making an idiot out of himself in interviews. Despite their 12-year age difference, Mayer claims that lyrics such as "Dear John, I see it all, now it was wrong ... don't you think 19 is too young to be played by your dark twisted games, when I loved you so?" really left him feeling blindsided and vulnerable. He tells Rolling Stone he was humiliated, especially since the country cutie never gave him a heads up: "I never got an email. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard." Based on her songwriting, we're pretty certain Swift felt exactly the same way at one point. Mayer further criticized her for releasing the song during his shadow days, "It really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?" All in all, Mayer says he has nothing to be guilty of with Swift. He tells the magazine, "It made me feel terrible. Because I didn't deserve it."
