Publicity for Joan Rivers' new book didn't Cost(co) the comedienne a thing. That's because Rivers took marketing her new book, I Hate Everything...Starting with Me, into her own handcuffed hands. Rivers staged a one-woman protest at bulk chain Costco because the chain banned the book. Racy quotes on the back cover blacklisted the book, which made Rivers none too happy. She visited an L.A.-area Costco Wednesday, where she proceeded to handcuff herself to a random customer's grocery cart. "Costco should not be like Nazi Germany. Next thing they'll be burning the bible," she hollered into a bullhorn. Costco management called the cops, who asked Rivers to leave, which she did. But not before selling copies of the book to customers straight out of the box - cash only. TMZ reports that she was able to sell about 150 copies of the book - and will sell many more, due to all the free publicity she got. Her story was not only picked up by TMZ, but also by major networks, including a spot on the Today show and Fox News.  Not a bad haul for a few hours of civil disobedience.
