Just because Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are supporters of same-sex marriages doesn't mean their families share the same beliefs. For a long time, the celebrity couple maintained that they would only tie the knot when everybody (i.e., the gay community) else was able to. Although they've since gotten engaged, they remain steadfast in their support. However, it appears that Pitt's mom Jane isn't on the same same-sex marriage page as her liberal son and daughter-in-law. Last week, the Pitt matriarch wrote a letter to the Springfield News-Leader, backing Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. In her letter, she said, "Any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon." Sources tell Star magazine that the actress was mortified over Mrs. Pitt's super-pious editorial piece. Following Jane's stand, Angelina supposedly "has told Brad he must educate his mother, but Brad is too much of a mama's boy." When expressing herself, Jane never expected that her views would cause such an issue with her future MIL. The insider reveals, "Jane has never wanted to talk politics with Angelina. She knew it would cause greater issues for them, and she wanted to try to have a relationship with the mother of her grandkids. She never thought her letter would be such a big deal." So far Brad hasn't stepped up to the plate. But sources say he better act fast before things get ugly. The source adds, "If Brad won't do it, Angelina will have to take matters into her own hands and talk to Jane about how, as the mother of such a prominent celebrity, she shouldn't be writing letters that clash with her son's personal opinions. It'll inevitably end up in a huge blowout, with Brad stuck in the middle. Brad keeps telling her not to take this so seriously, but when Angie sets her mind on something, there's no talking her out of it."
