| Emmy Nominees Announced |

The 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards nominees were announced Thursday morning, and there were some notable omissions. The usual suspects appeared as nominees - dramas like Mad Men and Breaking Bad scored big, and comedies Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory racked up plenty of nominations. In fact, four out of six nominees in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy all appear in Modern Family, including Ed O'Neill, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, who won last year. Newcomers Downton Abbey, American Horror Story and Girls had a respectable showing as well. Scandal star Kerry Washington joined Jimmy Kimmel to announce the lucky group. A few surprising shows and actors were snubbed, however. Outgoing Fox show and regular nominee House got zero nominations in its final season, and the leading ladies of Desperate Housewives didn't get nominated in their last season, either. Kathryn Joosten, who played neighbor Karen McCluskey was nominated posthumously, however. Joosten died of cancer in June.
