Drugs and prostitutes aside, notorious Hollywood bad boy Charlie Sheen is finally putting his money to good use. The Anger Management actor has graciously donated a whopping $1 million to the troops. And that, my friends, is the best publicity money can buy. According to TMZ, the 46-year-old recovering addict is giving the United Service Organization a cool seven figures. That happens to be the biggest donation ever made from a sole individual. And at the end of the day, the pledge could amount to even more. Here's the rub. The FX sitcom star vowed to hand over 1% of the profits he makes from his new show -- with a $1 million minimum. The more he gets, the more he gives. Sheen got some pretty high praise from General John I. Pray Jr., who is the Executive Vice President and Joint Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force. He issued the following statement, "[Sheen's] support is greatly appreciated, especially from our wounded warriors and their families." Sheen also expressed his gratitude while taking the opportunity to do a little self-promotion. Sheen, whose career got a big boost from his role as a soldier in Platoon, says, "It's an honor for me to be able to give back to these men and women of the military who have done so much for all of us. They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I'm just happy that my work on 'Anger Management' can bring a little bit of relief to the troops and their families." In the past, Sheen has donated to AIDS charities, the Red Cross, 9/11 workers and many more.
